As everybody waits with bated breath, indicators level to the audit report relating to Gov. Sarah Huckabee Sanders’ alleged buy of a $19,000 lectern and different spending by the governor’s workplace being launched as we speak.
The Legislative Joint Auditing Committee’s co-chairs, Sen. David Wallace (R-Leachville) and Rep. Jimmy Gazaway (R-Paragould), finally make the decision on when the auditor’s report might be launched. Although the committee obtained the ultimate report on Apr. 5, it was initially unclear whether or not the co-chairs would launch it previous to the committee’s commonly scheduled June assembly. On Apr. 9, however, Gazaway said that the report would likely be released “within the next 10 days.”
In line with KUAF’s Matthew Moore, the report might be proven to legislators as we speak and might be launched to the general public a couple of hours later, at 4 p.m.

Sen. Jimmy Hickey (R-Texarkana) requested the audit last September, following heavy media coverage of the governor’s alleged purchase of the pricey lectern from Virginia Beckett. Beckett, a good friend of Sanders, was a paid guide on the governor’s 2022 marketing campaign. (Her firm, Beckett Occasions, does not produce or sell lecterns .) The audit committee licensed the audit on Oct. 13.
