If one particle accelerator alone will not be sufficient to attain the specified outcome, why not mix two accelerators? Physicists have now applied this concept. They mixed two plasma-based acceleration strategies for electrons, particularly a laser-driven wakefield accelerator (LWFA) with a particle-beam-driven wakefield accelerator (PWFA). With this mixture, the physicists obtain higher stability and better particle density for electron beams than with only a single plasma accelerator. The modern idea due to this fact opens up new views for plasma-based particle acceleration.
