Sugar imports to be expedited: Tarin

Finance Minister Shaukat Tarin has constituted a sub-committee to expedite the import of 600,000 tonnes of sugar and directed the ministry of meals safety to finish the procurement of wheat on the earliest. Presiding over a gathering of the Nationwide Value Monitoring Committee, the minister directed the authorities involved to finish the procurement of wheat and sugar in phases, conserving in view the prevailing worldwide costs.
